Just like Ghana Police, the Nigeria Police seem not to be conversant with the country’s laws and as such the Police arrest citizens for not committing any crime.

Despite it’s not considered a crime, two people were arrested in Ghana for trying to cast a spell on the President and Asantehene. A blogger was also arrested for publishing a fake story.

Now the Police in Nigeria are divided on the issue of whether sex in a car is a crime or not. Is the country not having criminal codes?

The head of the Police Complaint Rapid Response Unit, Abayomi Shogunle, said earlier this week that having sex in a car is not a crime. This statement was accepted with joy by those who have made it a habit of enjoying themselves in cars.

Today, the Lagos State Police Command has also come out to say that having sex in a car is criminal.

Two top-ranking officers; who is saying the truth? Confusion!

The spokesperson for Lagos State Police Command, Chike Oti, said: “it was indecent to have sex in a car in public place, and that it’s not only in Lagos but also in the entire country”.

But Shogunle, head of the Police Complaint Rapid Response Unit, disagrees, he tweeted that, “Sex in a car in a public place is not a crime in Nigeria provided;
1. Location is not a place of worship
2. Parties are 18yrs+
3. The act is consensual (agreed to by parties)
4. Parties are of the opposite sex
If threatened with arrest over above, pls contact @POLICENG_PCRRU.”

Couples are now in a state of despair whether to continue having sex in cars or not.
