The Ghana Football Association Normalization Committee has for the second time postponed its special competition.
The competition was originally scheduled to kick off in January but was postponed after the Premier League clubs pulled out. However, the clubs rescinded their decision and decided to take part after a meeting with the committee, thereby paving the way for it to start on February 10, 2019.
But with few days to the commencement, spokesperson of the NC Dan Kweku Yeboah has revealed that the competition will not come off.
According to him, the clubs are yet to confirm their venues for the games
“Today is the deadline for clubs that received a notice to resolve their venue issues. Obviously, we are done with the fixtures; just waiting for a confirmation from the clubs that their venue is rectified or they should be relocated,” he said on Asempa FM.
“Apart from that [the venue issues], tentatively we are looking at 15th of February to commence the tournament.”
Sixty-four teams from the premier league and division one are expected to compete for the ultimate prize.
