Abdul Jalil Yakubu, cousin of the murdered investigative Journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, has said the family will react if the Police fail to apprehend the culprits.
The 31-year-old undercover journalist was shot three times, twice in the chest and once in the neck by unknown gunmen who rode on a motorbike late Wednesday night at Madina, a suburb of Accra, while driving home.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday, January 17, Jalil Yakubu said: “What we need is justice” he said but added, “when the justice fails we will react”.
Meanwhile the Interior Minister, Ambrosse Derry has asked for support for the Police as the security agency deals with the situation.
He told Journalists on Friday, January 18 that: “We need information; we need credible information and we need timeous information so I want to use this information to appeal to all, that we should bring the information to the Police; the CID and not through the media,” he said.
He said any delay in providing the Police CID with evidence, may cause distortions, stating “If we delay in bringing it and we put it through the media, then probably by the time we are getting the information, a lot of distortions might have taken place”.
