An aggrieved customer of embattled gold trading hub, Menzgold went crazy over her cash which has been locked up at the gold trading hub for sometime now According to her, she could not allow her GH¢760,000 investments to be spent by the owner of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah otherwise known as NAM 1 while president Akufo-Addo remains mute on the matter.
Speaking to pressmen at the Epitome of Grace building which serves as the headquarters of Menzgold, the aggrieved customer on December 24, 2018, said she had invested in the company and will ensure that every single penny was retrieved from them.
She added that her investments at the company was for the education of her three children and wondered why authorities from the Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC) sat aloof and allowed such a scam to befall the country at the expense of poor unsuspecting Ghanaians. She therefore called on the president to immediately intervene in the matter before victims of the company committed suicide. “If they president does not speak concerning this issue we are going to die.
The president has to talk, he has to do something about the situation not to protect this man. We need our money…me alone my money is 7.6 billion old currency. I cannot leave it for this man to spend it – Aggrieved customer”
She together with other persons who had invested at the gold hub took to the streets and took over some parts of the George Walker bush high way popularly known as N1 to demonstrate over the silence of the president over their locked up cash. According to her if the president does nothing about the situation Ghana would not be able to contain whatever that happens.
Another aggrieved customer who also had his investments locked up, said he wants the government to speak up on the issue at hand because he together with other people in the same situation were going to celebrate Christmas without any money.
